Croatia is located in the southern region of Central Europe, just across the Adriatic Sea from Italy. Croatian Guides offers customized, pre and post trip extensions within Croatia and to these surrounding countries...just ask!

Do Croatians speak English?
Croats, as with the majority of Europeans, speak many languages, including English. Our native, Croatian guides, have been involved in tourism for years, and are therefore fluent in Croatian and several languages, including English. Their adoration of introducing foreigners to Croatia's people, culture and geographical offerings, ensures you a visit that is stress free and filled with new found friendships.

Do you need a passport to travel on a Croatian Guide trip to Croatia?
Yes! A passport is manditory to travel in and out of Croatia as a US citizen. **IMPORTANT** Your passport must not expire before 6 months AFTER YOU RETURN from Croatia, in order to be valid for travel to Croatia.

Are there any safety concerns?

Croatia, like most small European countries, is a safe and friendly place. You will find locals willing to help out anyway they can and diving at the chance to get you to sit with them over a coffee at the local cafes. Nighttime strolls through downtown alleyways and late night wine tastings are safe and a must!

What weather should I expect?
The Adriatic coast enjoys a Mediterranean climate with an overwhelming number of sunny days, dry and hot summers, mild and humid winters. Average temperatures in May and June range from 60 to 80 degrees, in July they range from 70 to 86 degrees and in September and October they range from 60 to 78 degrees.

Are single travelers allowed on the Group Trips?

We welcome all travelers! As our group prices are based on double occupancy, there will be a moderate price adjustment for single room occupancy. Please see summary of the trip you are interested in for pricing difference.

Can I bring my own group of travelers on any of Croatian Guides' Group Trips?
Absolutely! Like we said above, we welcome ALL travelers on all of our group trips. Whether you plan on touring with your significant other, or a group of family and/or friends, feel free to peruse our group itineraries for the one that tickles your fancy. Then just let us know how many of you there are, and the rooming situation you would like, and we take care of EVERYTHING else! Plus if you book with a number of travelers, hidden discounts might be in your favor!

What is the food like?
The areas that we will be visiting are influenced greatly by the Mediterranean lifestyle. Therefore, Croatia's food is similar to that which you would find across all Mediterranean countries: seafood, lamb, veal, pizza and pasta, rice, organic vegetables, and American fare.

What is the currency?
The Croatian currency is called the Kuna and is pegged to the Euro. It floats accordingly against the US Dollar. For current currency conversion go to www.XE.com . Travelers checks and U.S. cash are accepted and ATM's are available in larger cities, hotels, and major tourist areas. Banks and airport change offices generally offer the best rates. As always, you get the absolute best exchange rate if you use your ATM card to pull out Kuna.

What is the Time Difference?
Croatia is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (based on US Standard Time) and 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
