Day 3-PLITVICE LAKES/OPATIJA
This morning, after breakfast, we will check-out of our hotel and set out on a ride to the heart of Croatia, where we visit Plitvice Lakes National Park. An unforgettable privately guided walk through the park will reveal the upper and lower lakes interconnected with barriers forming waterfalls; each lake placed on a different level of sediment. This is one of Croatia’s most unique spots of unspoiled nature. Breathtaking viewpoints, crystal clear water, and numerous waterfalls are just some of the things that make this park exceptional. After long and fulfilling trek through the park, we head to a local restaurant for a ‘peka’ lunch (traditional Croatian meal). We then journey to our Rivieria-esque destination, Opatija, where we’ll check-in with the remainder of the evening at your leisure.

Day 4 – OPATIJA RIVERIA
Set out to enjoy the local cuisine and spirits of this region in our Wine & Gourmet Tour. On today’s journey walk through the parks of Opatija and along the ‘Lungo Mare’ (waterfront promenade). We’ll also check-out the nearby, coastal town of Rijeka, and head to the town of Trsat for some further touring. Then it’s on to the medieval town Kastav where we’ll have the chance to enjoy the local brandy and stop for lunch in a famous, local ‘kanoba’ (tavern). After lunch we set out on a walk through the streets of Kastav. We’ll enjoy the views of Kvarner Bay and the Opatija Riviera. Return to the hotel later this afternoon with the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 5 – OPATIJA RIVERIA:
After a leisurely breakfast this morning, enjoy the day at your leisure in the charming town of Opatija. In this seaside town, one can find cozy fish restaurants, open-air cafes, and plenty of delicious gelaterias. You can also enjoy the wellness center in your hotel, or simply lie down on the turquoise fringed beach and dream away.

Day 6 - COOKING CLASS OPATIJA:
After a hotel breakfast, we will enjoy today’s tour, ‘The Culinary Experience’. We will first transfer along the eastern coast of Istria, into Pula. Here with our guide, we get flooded with the fascinating, Roman history of this area. We’ll also pay a visit to the Green Market and together purchase ingredients which we will need for the lunch that we will prepare ourselves as directed by our chef! We head to Stancija village, where will be served the local aperitif by the staffdressed in national costume and then it’s off the kitchen. Our well known Croatian Chef will offer us advice, little secrets of the great cooks, and hints and creative ideas you can take home a place in your recipe book! After enjoying our unforgettable lunch, we head north to the costal town of Rovinj. We’ll tour and roam this beautiful town before heading back to our Opatija hotel late this afternoon with the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 7 - MOTOVUN TRUFFLE HUNT/OPATIJA RIVERIA
After breakfast, put on your hiking shoes… we’re heading out on a truffle (mushroom) hunt in the interior of the Istria peninsula. First, on this guided hunt, we drive to the mighty town of Motovun we’ll walk along the town ramparts and learn about the medieval history of this area (clashes between the locals and the Venetians). After the pleasant walk our expert truffle hunter will take us in the famous Motovun woods in search for this gem of a mushroom. Upon completing the hunt, we slip into the neighboring tavern for an unforgettable lunch of truffles and other local delicacies. After lunch we depart for Opatija with a short break in Hum, “The Smallest Town in the World!” We will arrive back at our hotel in late afternoon with the remainder of the day free at your leisure.
